The Lough Gur has Ireland’s largest and oldest stone circle; aligned to the winter and summer solstice.  Visitors can walk unobstructed in the footsteps of Ireland’s first inhabitants within this ancient, ritual and sacred site. Visit the megalithic wedge tomb, New Church, Carraig Aille stone forts, lake front walk, early Christian field settlement and the Lough Gur viewing point. At these stops you will see where the earliest settlers once worshiped and lived.
