Rugby: The game of rugby has been played in Ireland for over 100 years – almost since the time it was invented. In Limerick City it is more a religion than sport! There is a great tradition and love for the game. Not surprisingly, Limerick teams Garryowen, Young Minster and Shannon have between them won seven of the ten All Ireland Club Championships since it was established. The newly revamped Thomond Park is the home of Munster Rugby and plays host to Heineken Cup and Magners League fixtures as well as concerts, conferences and large events. Visitors can now enjoy a tour of the Munster Museum which also includes a tour of the stadium.
